Whoulda thought?
« on: December 13, 2014, 04:23:57 pm »
At the Farm Market today, one of the vendors near me is Ken, and he is the owner of Big Monkey Kettle Corn. "It's not popcorn" as Ken always adds. ;D
Ken could sell ice to an Eskimo he is that convincing.
Anyway, today he comes over with his jug of kettle corn that he gives handfuls out with, and says I've got to try his new "blend" of kettle corn.

Bacon flavoured kettle corn!
I'm munchin on a bag as I'm typing this! ;D

No, but there's nothing I won't tease you about, either.   :P

BACON popcorn??   Lets see.. BACON is classified as MEAT CANDY...  well, one of the things classified as such...  and it now comes on POPcorn...
So....  Using the drippings form the bacon grease to POP the POPcorn in instead of butter is how we used to do it, then add the butter once its popped..
   How does it taste Perry??

Watch Iron Chef or Chopped and see how they use bacon in different ways, especially in deserts.  It will stretch your imagination.  (of course, after seeing trout ice cream, I now think that anything is possible).

Ha! Once in awhile I run across a box of cracker jacks in some out of the way store and I have to buy it and eat on the way home, then tip the box into my mouth and all the yummy sweet peanuts finish off the cracker jack experience! Good Memory Riv  :)

trout ice cream???...........

Well, one of the judging criteria is originality in the use of the secret ingredient.  Trout ice cream IS original (although the judges didn't care much for it).

Hi Ef  :)  Glad it was a good memory. Cracker Jacks was such a treat, mom didn't buy much in the way of sweet treats.
