Feeding pollen sub. dry inside hives.
« on: January 09, 2015, 11:58:46 am »
Has anyone tried to feed dry pollen sub inside the hive. Maybe on  a tray or on top of newspaper across frame top bars. OR in a jar with holes in the lid like syrup? I just wonder if they would use it that way instead of the patties. They sure seem to like it when they can fly and get it from a bucket dry.

I know someone has tried this.

I tried it a couple of times with no success. They seemed to waste much more than they took. I have good success feeding outside hives. I turn a barrel on it's side & pitch it to the back. They seem to like it.
