"I think I will add glucose to my pollen patty mixture.
If it will keep sugar cakes pliable, i wonder if it will keep pollen patties from getting hard. Anyone ever tried it?"
yankee i have never added any glucose when i was mixing up my own, and never had a problem.........what recipe/ingredients are you using?
i buy pre made now, and the ingredients don't have glucose in them?
ultra bee..........
i haven't used it dry in the hive or for that matter any dry pollen sub. if i did curtchann, in the hive, i would set it on wax paper for them to consume. couple things on this...........hopefully they don't drag it out as trash, AND, bees will consume pollen subs with high sugar content in them in the hive. not sure how much the dry stuff has? pollen sub patties.... if they don't need it they will drag it out, if they don't like it they will drag it out........
i like to use the patties, they are high in sugar content. in the spring my bees usually take to the pre made patties.......i used to mix my own, but now use the pre mades. it works for me........
ray can chime back in here, or scott, or iddee, about feeding the dry stuff outside the hive.
