Actually there is a right and wrong way. Much depends on what your looking for from your bees. Coupled with you concept of what you believe your physically capable of and how long you believe you can continue doing it. I am of the belief that if for convenience sake you stop doing something shortly thereafter you won't be physically able to do it at all. As for converting deep frames to medium frames, at the end of the day if that's what you want to do, then there is no amount of logic I or anyone else can say that will change your mind, so go do it. Realistically you keep your bees as you see fit, as will I. Promise I won't be thinking worse of you for your practice. Ohh lazy, cumulatively tossing 3  medium brood chambers I would think equals or exceeds the weight of two deep Brood chambers. Honey supers, that way different. As for foundationless comb, I will no longer comment on that particular issue.

Barry;   I am of the belief that if for convenience sake you stop doing something shortly thereafter you won't be physically able to do it at all.

You will have to convince my back of that fact Barry. I can carry a calf, carry railroad ties, set fence posts and carry rolls of barbed wire that weighs in excess of 100 lbs all day long, then go to step up into my truck and end up on the ground with a hurt back.  AT which point, the lighter the boxes the better. If lifting hie bodies is the only exercise you get, and you dont have a back that likes to kick you, then you may well be right.

Barry;     Promise I won't be thinking worse of you for your practice.

hehe same, so long as your way works for you and your enjoying your bees!

Barry; Ohh lazy, cumulatively tossing 3  medium brood chambers I would think equals or exceeds the weight of two deep Brood chambers.

If you actually intend to lift them all at the same time, I would suspect you were correct.

Your way = wrong
My way = wrong
The bee's way = RIGHT
