Fruit Tree Spray: Not sure about the contents...

The owner of the land where Hive OR1 is would like to spray his 20-ish tree orchard:  Apples & Pears.  I think this is just a dormant oil, but I'm unsure.  The trees aren't even showing buds yet, let alone flowers.  Please let me know if there's anything I should be concerned with and what I should so.

Just what are the "other ingredients" that comprise the 81.7% of the product?
Has he said why he is spraying, is this an insect problem or fungal one?
Either way, if he is going to spray, ask if he would do it at dawn or dusk when your bees are not flying.

Normally 80%+ would be mineral oil, not a concern, the remaining 20% I believe are pesticides

A little blurry but I think I saw 'MALATHION" a very heavy duty INSECTICIDE. Insecticides are generally applied at a certain amount of petal drop to kill the bugs that lay eggs in the fertilized fruit bud. Dormant oils are applied when the trees are dormant and are meant to smother the overwintering stages of pessts.

You could lock your bees up for the day he's going to spray.

Spoke to him today. He sprays as a preventative measure a couple times a year.  Once before the blooms, and again after the flowers are gone.  He will do it at dusk.  I can lock the bees up for a day.  I'll just make sure they have plenty of syrup.  There's certainly no flow now anyway.  I'll see when he's gonna do it.  Thanks for the info.  Anything else I should be aware of?

The third ingredient is Malithion. It is an insecticide. I don't know what the others are. If there's not a flow on and you're feeding them you may be ok, but it's certainly a risk.

If he sprays at dusk, the bees should be home, or close to it.. 
   When notified that someone is going to spray, I also ask them to spray at dusk, and when the bees are all in I screen the entrances and wait until the following day when the dew has dried to release them.   I still have some dead bees, but my hives do not get decimated any more.

If you want to do the job the right way have a professional come in and spray brigade. This stuff kills everything. You need a  license to use it. If you want to spray organic. Pyganic is the best product to use because it breaks down very fast but very expensive. I spray pyganic on my strawberries once a week. It kills everything on contact. I spray just before dark.

While I hate to take the risk, not much of an option here.  He'll spray at dusk and I'll make sure they have plenty of feed and lock them in for the night and through the next day.  I'll screen the entrance.  thanks for the advice!
