Queens arrived

Got my 15 queens (Carniolan's) at 7:00pm tonight, was to late and was to  tired to put them in nucs and hives :-[ They came in the single cage with no attendants inside, rider bees on the outside of cages. I put them in the bottom of a Med. 5 frame nuc box, put a frame of honey in and dumped  another hand full of bees in with them.The hand full of bees were lost bees from the nucs i brought back from bee yards yesterday, so their happy now :D. I brought the nuc with bees and queens in the kitchen and set it on the floor, the wife wasn't to happy :o, but it's supposed to drop down to 37F tonight and i told her i was the King and this is my Castle  ;D. Hope they'll be alright till tomorrow, i may not. :laugh: Jack

Weather mid 60's today with sun shinning, rest of the week 60's and 70's with rain toward end of the week. I'm still here,  :D haven't checked the queens yet,waiting for it to warm up and i'll put queens in the 4 nucs i brought home, make up 4 or 5 nucs here and take them to an outyard and make up some more nucs from the outyard while i'm there and bring them home. That is if i don't have to help the other 3 first calve heifers calf? i pulled two last week :o. I don't like those queen cages with only the queen in them without attendants in with the queen, makes you have to get them in nucs or hives right away and i've taken 4 hits all ready from the attendants on the outside of the queen cages. >:( Jack

I'm with jack, I like attendants.. I know it takes longer to add the attendants, but I think it also adds insurance.
