I wonder how one frame could elevate the temps enough throughout the hive to sterilize the make mites?

Marla Spivak is going to be our key note speaker at our bee club funday in June.  I hope she talks about MiteNot.  I will ask if she doesn't talk about it.

My understanding is that the frame monitors itself and if/when it recognizes the potential for mites it raises it's own temp to kill the mites and eggs, not the temp of the whole hive.  I would be interested in hearing what you find out when you speak to her.  Please be sure to share!

I haven't reread the article, But I was under the impression that only 1 frame was needed in a hive? How would sterilizing the male mites on 1 frame have much consequence?
