48F and sunny and mine are out flying around, too.  Activity in all three hives.  That's a good sign.

I hope it stays cold all the way until it's time to we warm.  I think the hot and cold messes with them.

A warm day every 10 days or so for  cleansing flights and cleaning up the dead in the hive is always nice.
I can wait till spring . Going to be around 50 in these parts SAT. so I'm guess  they will be hitting the stores.
Say hello to the bad guy.

I was really frightened for my 2 baby hives this last week with single digits in GA.  But Wednesday was sunny and my hubby reported that he saw all four hives flying!  Hooray!

Now i'm biting my fingers for the next dip.  Still a long ways to go even for the south.

I hate winter. :(

love,
ziffa

this was the first sunny and warm day in well over a week.  the rain ended yesterday and this morning the sun came out.  at the first yard i went to the spring beauties were starting to show and there was already some small amount of pollen coming in.  with a bit more sunshine the spring beauties may well blanket the landscape.

After the thunderstorms and tornado warnings passed, temperature got up in the mid 60’s here in GA.  The bee yard was a steady buzz and a great sight.  I walked back in the house after being out there a while and had several hitchhikers come in along with me.  I sure hope that arctic blast knocked back the SHB, at least a little.
