APIStech: Smart Hive to save and Monitor our BEES!

Hey worldwidebeekeeping community, We're creating a real time monitoring system for beekeepers based on the concept of Internet Of Bees. As you may know the world is facing a big problem concerning the health of the bees, and our goal is to give beekeepers a set of tools to help them give a better answer. Our monitoring system helps beekeepers to simplify the logistics of keeping the hives, to control the ecosystem of the hive, to monitor the performance of the swarms, and control threats like thefts or the asian giant hornet. In parallel we developed a beehive where we achieve an improvement of the thermic efficiency (about 50% more). We used the best technics and materials to redesign the construction of a beehive, keeping it's traditional shape and norms. We're from Portugal as knows as the country of the cork and we used it to improve the beehive.

How much is all this going to cost per hive? In order to be alerted in real time from out yards one will need a data plan from a wireless carrier. The power consumption to power the signal will require a sizeable battery or power that I as not available at all yards.
All the data that can be obtained from monsters in  and on the hive will not replace a visual inspection where queen, bees, disease, position, and size of the cluster can be evaluated. With a visual inspection the hive can be managed to prevent swarming.
I don't know how commercially viable and cost effective your monitoring system will be, but I am looking forward to updates and what the costs and features associated with the monitoring system will be.

I think I recall the crowd sourcing efforts by this company a while ago.  Glad to see you got something off the ground.  Without innovation we'd still be living in caves.   I wish you the best of luck.  Unfortunately I see this as a not viable solution to a non existent problem.   You can collect all the data you want, but it's not going to make your bees healthier, or replace the need for visual inspections.   There are hundreds of universities world wide already monitoring the heck out of every aspect of  their hives. 

A hive box that makes the thermal regulation of the hive easier for bees is great.  If you can make it roughly the same price as a standard hive, I'm sure you will find a large market.
