Hmmm, I can to add to that ~
I do still sting my hips and lower back when needed. I have discovered that each honey bee can be a different level of ouch. I have taken note that young honeybees have a more powerful wollup than old honeybees. But there are times when I have a young honey bee where the stinger is still stuck on my skin and I don't really feel very much sting. I have determined that sometimes the muscles on the back end of the stinger have a great deal to do with how deeply the stinger goes in. Such as when I put the bottom of the bee to my skin, the barbed stinger catches my skin, the muscles of the stinger pump the venom into my skin... I think that sometimes not all of the muscles detach from the rear end of the bee, leaving a not very effective pump of the stinger, therefore not as ouchy.
Hope that made sense
