Artist creates artistic hives around Kansas City

Some background info: Ewing and Muriel Kauffman were major contributors to Kansas City.  The home of the Royals baseball team is in Kauffman stadium.  The garden is their final resting place and offers a relaxing, educational experience.  Their gravesites can be viewed from a distance while walking through the garden.

Bakersdozen Thanks for posting this story.
I don't want to get into a rant over the artsy artistic hives. But some one has to say it. This is stoopid. No removable frames, so any type of swarm control or management is out of the question. The size is a way to small to be a productive hive. These are going to be swarm producing menaces. I am all for having managed hives in public gardens but what he is doing is a disaster and law suites waiting to happen. And he says beekeeping runs in the family in that his grand father and mother are hobbyist beekeepers. He wasn't taught responsible beekeeping by them.
