I looked at many of those designs when I designed the bee sheds I built in Maine. As Apis said, the lack of ability to expand and or remove supers caused me to discard that type of actual hive and design the bottom board to accept Lang style boxes.
If and when I get spare money I hope to build ten of those sheds for my own use here. Moveable because they are on skids... pull them on the trailer, drive them where needed and pull them off. Insulated from wind, movable, bear resistant, and still easy to work. When the cover/boxes are removed, the bees immediately head for the open vent panel where the light is coming in, or the open door. I was astounded at how much they left me alone, even when breaking down the hives.
