Looky what I got!
« on: May 10, 2016, 05:07:08 pm »
I'very been helping Scott a little in his wood shop, mainly painting and a little of whatever.  What can I say?  It gives me something to do when the weather is crap and keeps me from pestering my sweet wife.  No, I don't intentionally pester her but that seems to be the end result when I follow her around like a lost puppy all day.  Scott's one of those guys who CAN'T let others just help out.  Oh no, that would be too easy.  He has to go around feeling beholden to someone.  Keeping score.  Like it's  a contest or something!  He doesn't realize that I just needed something to do.  That and my sweet wife is writing off a large chunk of money on taxes under "daycare for an adult parent".  I told her she's pushing it and she replies, your a parent aren't you?  Yes. Your an adult aren't you?  Yes.  You spend your days at Scotts don't you?  Yes, but...   Yes but what?  Nothing, dear.  Anyway Scott's running around feeling beholden, looking for ways to even the score and this is what he comes up with.

[/urll

So I'll be heading back to Scott's tomorrow,  do a little painting, maybe a little whatever.  Got to even the score you know.  Can't go around beholden to someone.   Shish.  It's  a vicious cycle.  Like a dog chasing his tail.  But, I DID get a really cool smoker out of the deal!    Ted

Nice looking sink and counter. Did he install it in your house for you, too?   ;D

What Perry said. I think I would either put a bouquet of flowers in it, or take it outside and rub some ash into it, maybe... drop it by accident a couple of times...   :D

Good for you! Everyone needs a friend like Scott  ;)

Makes me think of the first carpentry crew I worked with.  Showed up with a brand new nail apron.  That was rough.  Got home that night,  dragged the apron through the dirt, ran over it with the car several times, ended the evening drinking beer and beating the apron against a tree.  Made my life a little easier, not much, but a little.   Live and learn.  Ted

That thing looks great right where it is with the copper flour bin. You could make it the focal point of the kitchen. I would almost consider tradin my electric smoker. Almost :)

Try to order a custom made copper smoker from overseas (Thorne)... its not so easy to do. My account got blocked three times, first time I ordered... OK... second time I ordered after talking to the bank...  not so OK.. third time after talking to the bank AND having them contact the card company...    Fourth time they had to completely unblock the account and stayed with me on the phone (at the bank)  while I ordered...   Jeez the things I go through trying to keep a good painter....
By the way... "HE" saw my paint jobs when he stopped in today and I got razzed pretty good....   Told him it looked so bad because of all the tears of PAIN that dripped into the paint while I was painting..........   ;D
