My Father's Day!
« on: June 20, 2016, 10:16:26 pm »
My 36 year old step-daughter sent me this e-mail yesterday......

Once every 1,000 years a man unlike any other is born. A great man...a kind man...a hero in his own right. Slayer of fears, protector of daughter, keeper of hounds...but what really sets this man apart is his determination and capacity for love in the face of doubt, worry and pain. His sweet light shines bright and true, lighting the way for the weary, guiding towards forgiveness and hope. That's his gift to his daughter...showing through action how to be a better person... A gift she'll always cherish.

I  love you papa bear. Happy Father's Day to a true father and a wonderful man. I love u to the moon and back. Xoxoxoxoxo carrie

Everyone that gets one of those letters in his lifetime is a successful individual.  Everything other than the daughter's sentiment and true feeling is insignificant.  Good on you for being the father is this girls world.  I wish every girl had such a father.

Thanks Guys!

What's humbling to me is she didn't feel this way at all twenty years ago when she was a teenager. My opinion of my parents grew as I aged also. :)

Age isn't a bad thing after all, is it?
