Got family involved
« on: August 02, 2016, 10:50:28 am »
Sunday afternoon, my son and grandson came to "grandpa's farm".  They don't live very far away but because my son's work schedule, he doesn't come often.  We went out to the apiary and decided my 5 frame nuc needed a dorm room. We took D  Coates 5 frame nuc plans, modified them a bit to make a super.

My grandson got right in the middle of building and had to help!  His treat: fresh honey right from the hive.  He could't get enough of the hammering, drilling or eating the honey.  Thought I'd share a couple pictures.

I just built around 2 dozen of those second story boxes for my D.Coates nucs.
Grandkids? What about us geezers that still have young kids themselves? :D
