Explosion of SHB"S

The twenty hives i went through last week didn't have as many shb's as last week yesterday, but still had plenty for the bees to deal with I killed over a hundred with my hive tool and had to replace the swiffer pads because most of them were full of shb. I'm sold on them, they work 24/7 and do a great job, i had to many pads full of shb and many were still alive that i put them in the metal smoker bucket, poured lighter fluid on the and set them a fire. :yes:I also used them to keep my smoker going, It must be the light two winters that has caused the explosion of shb in my hives? for several years i never seen over 8 to 10 at the most not 50 to over a hundred . If you have shb's give the swiffers a try, you will be impressed. Jack

I'm concerned that like any pest, the SHB will learn to adapt and become more of a problem than the "minor nuisance" they are.

Brooks, the stock is 88.05 per share right now. Maybe you better get some before it explodes.

Here in Arkansas the small hive beetles are worse than I've ever seen.
The long range weather forecast for the mid south is saying a mild and wet winter.
Same as we had last winter.
I've had folks tell me they can go out and watch their hives at around 6:30PM and see from 1-4 beetles a minute flying to their hives and going in.
One said he is getting 20 to 30 every morning out of his hives.
The Beetles are flying in from somewhere else.
It's a daily battle here fighting them.
Then if the hive gets weak here comes the wax moths.
Wish they could find a way to get rid of the small hive beetles instead of  managing against them.

I use the swiffers sheets also and it traps a lot of them. I tried oil traps and it didn't catch as many. I use the generic dollar store brand cause I'm just that tight.
