I'm so proud of my no quit daughter.
« on: September 25, 2016, 09:14:08 am »
A couple years ago she made the local news paper where she lives, Personally I thing she is crazy.

Just a month and a half ago she had an operation on her hip to stop the ball from coming out of the socket. They also ran some test while she was in the hospital and found out she has celiac.

So Friday she wanted to do this 24 hour run, just 8 miles to get an award for so many miles for the year or some other crazy thing like that. Well she set out with her 12 year old son, together they covered 27.5 miles walking. The run committee had to cut the run short due to all the rain they had gotten last week. She said a island out in the river was totally covered when they went by it last yesterday.

Not only did she get her award she was feathered as one of the runner pictures in silouite on this years T shirt.

I should also mention how proud I am of my oldest grand daughter who managed to do 40 miles mostly bare foot because her shoes got wet and started hurting her feet. She had taken a couple extra pair of shoes but all would be soaked in a lap because of so many wet areas. They kept changing the course because of parts flooding.
She just turned 16 a bit ago and is a senior in high school this year. A small girls catholic school has offered her a 4 year full ride swimming scholarship next fall.

Beautiful story. Thanks for posting it.

Alley, you are justly proud of your daughter and grand-daughter.
I have a sneaking suspicion that they are proud of their father/grandfather.  If they didn't come from the right stock, where they developed their values,  they wouldn't have done what they did so well.
