I remember that stuff Lee. Years ago, I spent 3 weeks on the tundra 45 miles from Churchill, MB. Up there on a long-term goose study and the fuel was for helicopters I think. We used them and also fixed-wing planes (mostly Otters) to shuttle people and supplies to camp. Fuel was flown in and was in 55 gallon drums. Also had gas in 55 gallon barrels. Gets colder there than here. Snow drifts were 15 feet deep around our cook house and was still there when we left 3 weeks later and that was June!
