Melting wax

Has anyone tried melting wax in a slow cooker?  I am going to try in a few hours, have a few lbs of refine chipped wax waiting to be melted.

The slow cooker will work but will be coated with wax and unusable for cooking. I would buy the plastic bag liners they sell for slow cookers so you don't ruin the slow cooker.

Ihave used a crock pot for years to refine and clean wax I used about a 50/50 mix of water and wax and let melt on low heat

We bought a converted Presto Pot, and absolutely love it. Can't use it for anything else but that was the idea anyway.

i haven't and don't use a slow cooker to melt my wax (i use solar method and also big kettle on the stove in a pinch), but anything you use can't be used for anything else as others have said.

now looking to buy a designated wax melter for as much wax as i process.  good luck, let us know the results!
