It has been a rough spring in the bakersdozen household. Prayers would be appreciated.
On April 3 my mother had a stroke at age 87. She is a devout Christian. It has been a roller coaster of emotions. I will spare you all the details. We are respecting her wishes and making her comfortable in a nursing home. Hospice has been called in.
On Easter Sunday, my Mother in Law suffered a small stroke. She is 90 and has been in a nursing home for 2 years. Her health has been in a slow decline for several years. Hospice has been called in.
Both my husband and I are distraught and are finding the need to rely on each other even more.
The "icing on the cake" that almost did us in was the sewer line at our house collapsing. The repair was completed this morning, but we had to wait 5 days for the crew to come in and fix it. The actual delay was because the city wanted to inspect the work before closing the trench up. I can laugh now, but we have had some pretty tense moments around here.
Needless to say, I have not attended to my hives as I should. They have been moved down the ladder of life. The only hive with honey supers on is a swarm I lured last year. That mean, mean, mean colony is starting it's 3rd honey super.
