I have two hives. One of them swarmed and cast swarmed to the point of depletion. I inspected it two days ago, and it is full of drones, and maybe a couple of frames worth of workers. Figured it was queenless. Then I went further down and there she is, my pink queen. she's a nice big healthy queen. Can't figure why the last swarm didn't slim her down and take her with them. Now I understand why she is still alive, the small amount of workers are feeding her.
I also have a 5 frame freshly pulled nuc from 4 days ago, with 3 frames of brood and food. Bees are in good shape and haven't started queen cells yet. Has larvae, but can't find any eggs, prob why they haven't started queen cells.
How about I take the drone ladened hive down, and replace with the freshly pulled nuc and make a hive with the stray pink queen?
What do I do with all of those drone?
