Yep, nice catch. I went, but only caught a catfish about 3 lb. Released it. Will try again next weekend.

I was just wondering.
I live next to a city park with a lake (which really looks like a pond)  :D.  Last week one of the fishermen was all excited.  He had caught a bass and a crappie and thought the crappie might set a state record.  It did look good size to me, but what do I know.  He couldn't find his scale to weigh the crappie but was estimating 3.5 #.  He was going to take it to Bass Pro Shop to be weighed.
I wondered if he knew what he was talking about.

Thanks for sharing the pics, Mikey. I've got to go crappie fishing next year, haven't in a long time. Back home in Louisiana, I grew up calling them Sac-a-Lait, means sack of milk refering to their soft mouth and delicious meat.

Now I'm hungry for fried fish, darn it! :)

Hard to get good fried fish unless you catch and cook them your self.
We called them paper mouths because of the tender mouth.

We even used to catch them way up in Canada in a few places.
We used Minnows as bait up there with slip bobbers.
Lot of people thought we were nuts fishing for them in Canada.
We were there for a week and you could only bring home so many walleyes.
