Dr Karl Von Frisch had his sight, The guy I am looking for was german lost his site as a very young boy but had a faithfull assistant. Who would describe to him what he was seeing. Beeing blind he didnt have the outside world to distract him. HE would dictate to the assistante what he thought was going on and the assitante would record it.

François Huber would be the man mentioned.  Here is a link to who he was. I have a couple of his books. They are very interesting reads.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fran%C3%A7ois_Huber

I guess I never realized it either!!!!

  Michael Bush has links and some good reading on his site;

   The first book is here from the Cornell Library;

   Popular science.. with Sketch of the life of Francis Huber about 3/4 or a bit more toward the bottom.. pretty good reading;
