Since I don't have sound, I usually don't open videos. Maybe the others are out in the warmer weather before it turns cold again Wed.

Thanks! The 1st Hive has made it 2 winters now!

I am going to make up 4 Nucs to overwinter the ones that Survived this winter...

My goal is to never have to buy a Package again and hopefully have Nucs to sell to other keeps in the area cause all my main hives make it!  8)

Good goal there Don and glad you have some bees after that brutal winter we had.  As for the 2 year hive, did you have to treat it all for anything?  I am curious because I am trying my best to stay all natural and it would be nice to see some hives making it for multiple seasons.  Or, do you think that you managed them in an certain way as to make them stronger?

Didn't treat them at all. I think they are Minnesota Hygenic Bees... they are one of the hives I bought from Farmall...

Must be good stock cause I just let them Bee and they survived 2 years! 8)

Only inspections to check on them and tidy up the hive...didn't feed them in fall either...no sugar nothin'...

Screened Bottom Board OPEN all winter and the top entrance notch in the inner cover in the front.

Entrance Reducer for winter...

I used a lazer thermometer today on the outside of the hives and all 4of my Hives seemed to read a cluster in the top deep that was 56 F even the one that I thought was dead. Smaller cluster by the temp readings than the other 3 but the cluster read 56 F on outside of hive and where there was no cluster it was 45F...
