Hardware Cloth
« on: March 18, 2014, 06:21:31 pm »
Boy, this stuff is getting harder and harder to find! I did find it however, on Amazon. It's $24 for a 36" X 10' roll. Is that a good price? I've never purchased that size before. I've about decided when I do find it, I want to purchase extra.

I think quantity is everything. It isn't always easy to find. I think the last time I looked it was $80 for a 50' roll. Most folks don't need 50', I know I didn't.  :-\

The place I get #8 hardware cloth from sells it on 24" wide rolls for $1.25/ft and will cut any length you want. I hope they got more in, I bought the end of the roll last time I made a purchase.

I bought some #8 last fall from a Mom and Pop hardware store.  They sell a whole roll or will cut it to your desired length.  I don't remember what they charged.  Earlier in the year I went in  there to find a back up ball bearing for my extractor.  The young man spent 15 minutes helping me, only to find that they were sold out.  He promised to order which he did.  He said he would call me when it came in, if I wanted.  I told him that he didn't need to because I would be back in town the next week.  All that for a 28 cent ball bearing.  That's customer service.
