First cutout this year
« on: April 11, 2014, 03:54:35 pm »
Helped, ""watched"" Jacobs and his 2 partners do a cutout today.DEFINITELY survivors. Not only made it through winter, but 3 or more 5 gallon buckets of honey, over 10 frames of brood. Very large hive to be this early.

Very nice. Good to see they got the queen. Were these bees under the floor? I almost never see ferals live anywhere that low to the ground around here.

Me, too.  The first thing I thought of was AHB.  Won't they live in or close to the ground?

That's great! I've never done a cutout before, but I would love for my first to be like that! Good job!

Looks like they came through winter very well in the barn. Good one for sure.
