Marking Hives

I will be setting up two new hives next to each other (within 3 feet), and was wondering with only two if it would be beneficial / necessary to have a distinguishing color / marking so the bees will identify their hive?   I know with a lot of hives drifting can occur, but am curious with only two?

Shouldn't be a problem with nucs. Packages are not family, so drift much more the first few days.

I have about ten hives lined up that will be getting packages. I expect some drifting. To compensate I will swap locations a couple times between strongest and weakest until they get their bearings.
