The bees are the ones that are coming away with the most benefit Pollen substitute, moisture, and sugar. If there were other attractive pmants and food scources in the area there would not be the swarms of bees. Wasps would be a different story.

Try to find and watch original Iron Chef (from Japan).  There's a Chinese chef named Chen Kenichi who really knows how to use really odd ingredients (well all the Iron Chefs do).  He made sardine ice cream once.
