Had a few more firsts on Sunday. Tried on my new bee suit for the first time, did my first inspection (no way I was waiting another second!), and spotted my first queen cells. The one hive seemed to be doing very well and had begun drawing out three frames of comb. The other hive did not seem to have nearly as many bees, less pollen & nectar, no new comb drawn, and had capped and uncapped queen cells. So I had my first panic session, and then my first management decision.: I'm sitting back and letting them be bees. But just in case, I have set out some swarm traps in case they swarm (and decide to actually go where I want them to).
I have noticed more bees coming and going from the weaker hive in the last two days, so I'm hoping that means they are content.
