yes jen, if i had your situation now, i would put whatever you decide to use, deep or medium of foundation on top until it is drawn, and i would feed them if necessary until it is....don't rely on a nectar flow completely for the bees to draw foundation. that is just the way i would do it, others may have a different opinion.....

Calif is so dry this year, crazy dry. It's been 3-4 weeks since I've seen the bees get busy and excited. Just today I saw them zooming in and out, that was encouraging. Both of us like this idea, Thanks!

okay jen, with dry conditions and no nectar flows, give them a water source if you haven't, and to draw foundation and to sustain them, feed light syrup.
