Forgot to repair... is this a problem?
« on: May 26, 2014, 08:55:16 pm »
I know it's common to have another egress on the hive... but being a new install is this going to be a problem?  I meant to repair this super before using and forgot.  This is the back of the only deep I have in place.  I do have other deeps I can swap with, including the one on top covering the feed jar.

If you don't care the bees don't care.

Just keep it in mind when you do an inspection, might get it in the legs (nothing a piece of duct tape or grass wont take care of for a quick plug).
Bees are bees and do as they please!

A piece of duct tape works wonders.

the old school fix for that is a bit of mud.  The bees propolise the inside and it becomes permanent.
My advice: worth price charged :)

the bees will do their best to propolize it shut from the inside......you can plug it from the outside as g or slow has suggested. but once it's lifted, it will break the propolization free and the bees go to work to shut it again...... :D

or mud....
