"Well my own bees just swarmed!! Luckily I caught them! "

............ :D

i couldn't help myself lindsay.....rob will get you squared away, but it is magical to see or experience and i think it expedites one's beginning beekeeping learning.....
just ask jen...... :D

ps, looking forward to an update!

He came and saved the day riverbee! I banged the swarm into a nuc and things seemed to be fine until a few hours later when they appeared to be making another move... I stood around for about an hour misting them with the hose in a desperate attempt to keep them put while waiting to hear from Rob. He came and we pulled the frames out, he found the queen caged her, and added a queen excluder on the bottom board before returning her to the nuc. Hopefully she stays put  ;D

It makes sense! Crazy is an understatement.. I was pacing around in circles,  everything I ever heard about swarms totally left my brain I was so not expecting this. Now that things are under control I can look back and say wow that wasn't so bad I will handle this so much better next time. Every new real life experience is just an opportunity to grow and learn. Yes Rob is beyond great. Im not sure how ill ever repay him for all he does for me!

absolutely, these are the things that contribute to our learning curve.  repaying rob? i can't speak for rob but i think the greatest joy for any mentor or another beek that helps another out is to see them 'grow' and succeed in keeping bees.........and know  they have been a part of helping them get there ;)

YAY Lindsay! Good News! Now don't bother them for awhile, give them 2 weeks. I know I know, it's really hard to not peek every day. Our best friends come over and he teases me about wearing down a path in front of the hives. NOT SO! those are tree roots coming up and grass just doens't grow there! Honest!

Oh yes I totally get that! I force myself not to peak! Rob told me to take a look in there and remove the excluder if there were eggs .... I'm jealous you have such luck with your bare ground under your hives, I just weed whacked my bee yard on Sunday. I was expecting some angry bees but all was fine  ;D
