That white wax is always a pleasure to see.

Looking good and from the way they have pulled that comb out past the frame I would say 9 frames in a ten frame box OR tat was n outside frame.

Not busting you chops here because I have done it many many times myself but with the amount of bur comb, short cells drawn off the side of the top bar. The hive should have had an additional supper added sooner. In one way it is a sign that a great nectar flow is on, It also shows that we may of lost some potential honey due to lack of storage space. I love finding frames like that, then I think dam I should have had supered sooner.

Yep, 9 frames in my supers and yes this was a new out yard and they exploded on me. 2 hives with 3 supers on each. Fixing to extract and put empty boxes back on.

Next year this yard is going to 8 hives. No monocrops within range, all natural.

I'm fortunate to be in that same situation. My bees aren't going full guns like yours though. That is an awesome frame of goodness!

Looked at mine this morning and had to add super to two of them, one was a swarm for my yard I got back in April and this is the second super going on it, the other is a package I got in late March that I added a super on. The 2 bottom full hives are full on both hives and they were added bur comb on top and around so caught just in time for not to much of it around, full of honey also, Parse the LORD for a great flow that is on.

I'll post some pics later. It is not brood, it just looks likes it capped with honey or wax or something like that.

Wet cappings verses dry cappings. It has to do with bee genetics, some races of bees place the cappings off the surface of the comb so there is a air space which makes the cappings white. other racer place the cappings on the honey and they look darker because of this. It has no effect on the honey quality or taste It just makes the comb look more desirable when it is white. In judging honey comb and frames of honey if 2 exhibits were equal in every way except capping color the higher points would be awarded to the frame with the lighter cappings.
