One might need re-queening
« on: June 07, 2014, 12:42:08 pm »

Was standing alittle off to side of front, near large Oak tree figuring it would shield me from their direct flight to the hive. not so, one of the girls circle around in front of me and want lright for my face. so I'm thinking requeening is going to be the order of the day. not right this second, but if their demeanor does not improve it will be done.

Hey Barry, I've been reading about pissy bees, and have learned some stuff here on the forum as well. Give them some time, they have been through a lot lately. Sooo many reasons why they may not be happy for the moment ~

A thought ~ What if the girl stung your lower arm, instead of your face...

Would you be less offended?

Don't get me wrong, I understand getting hit the face! It's hard to not take it personal

Lol after Saturday/ Sunday, one is more irritating then a issue, but am in a " civilized " area. Where they still there they were being bothy by critters, probably raccoons. And no I certainly am not offended by being stung in the face. This one is right on eye socket, burns a bit.

A sting here and there is part of beekeeping. I wouldn't requeen over a couple stings. Now if they had lit you up and chased you tot the house than that's a different story

It's uneven. You need to get one on the other side to balance it.   ;D
