My parents traveled up for my oldest daughter's graduation this weekend. I wasn't ready to do a few blown extraction but my step-dad really wanted to see the process of processing honey from hive to bottle. So, we went back and grabbed 11 frames. Absolutely beautiful to see those pristine white cappings. I was able to cut him some comb honey from one of my foundationless frames. The honey was very light like the first harvest from last year. There will be plenty more from where this came from. Good year indeed! Ended up with a little over 40 lbs. The refractometer revelaled 16.5%.

Congratulations on getting the few frames to extract so you could inform and educate your step father.
Congratulations on your daughters graduation.
Now invite him back when all your supers are full so he can help Now that he is trained.
The honey looks beautifull and as always thanks for posting.

I had Pandora running with Bluegrass and that song was in the mix for some reason. I always play music when I extract, it's a prerequisite.

Thanks River, we had 11 frames like that. Some were very beautiful, white pristine cappings. I was able to cut some comb honey from some of the frames you taught me to use without foundation. Found out I have to be careful when extracting those frames. Oh, and then if was off to cookin wieners for the graduation party!

ya made me laugh over that tune, but i do like hank williams. i extract to music as well, have a nice setup for that....or a brewers baseball game going.
so do tell about extracting those foundationless frames.....?!........

Thanks Ef! I seem to remember another infectious smile. Today was my last day in Israel last year and yesterday last year would have been the day you drove me to Hebron and other great sites. Hope to meet with you again someday soon. My wife told me the other day she wants to move to Israel when are kids are all out of the house! I am very good with that!

This afternoon, on my way home from Jerusalem, I passed by the stream bed that we visited together, where David collected his stones in order to do away with Goliath---even without remembering the date, I thought fondly of you and the trip. I've been thinking up more places to visit with you on your next visit.
When you make the move, we'll have to set you up in an area with a nice spot for bee hives. No need to worry about bears here.
