Lucky 4-Leaf Clover

My sister said I could put some hives on a field above her house way out in the country so I set a single deep there May 6 . Her nickname's "B" so I painted a special hive for her with a queen bee and a four leaf clover 'cause we used to love looking for "lucky"clovers. This is our tallest hive now and I've put 2 more hives up there since the bees seem to be making a lot of honey.

Nice paintings on the hives. A field of wild flowers it looks like vetch in front of the hive. It is a fantastic honey producing plant how many more do you have to take out there?

I'm going to take "Garden Spider", one of my back yard hives that's struggling. It started out strong but with several weeks of rain and an apparent attempt at supercedure and a poorly mated queen, a change of venue might be in order. With all the rain the vetch is really starting to bloom and another hive or two on that hilltop would be nice. The only negative is if it's rained too recently we have to carry our gear in a ways. Not too far but hubby and I are both 63-4 and even an empty super or two plus smoker, hive tools,etc.  becomes cumbersome wearing an Ultrabreeze jacket on an Oklahoma summer afternoon.
