help...
« on: June 16, 2014, 11:09:19 pm »
does anyone know how I might change the setting on this forum to improve the time required for items on this site to load.  I like to think of myself as a patience man but this site acts more like I am still on a dial up modem.

any help or suggestion would be much appreciated.

What types of items?

Does it happen on every site you go to, or just this one?

What do you have for a computer?

O/S, processor, RAM?

What browser are you using?

to give you some idea of speed I hit the reply button and it then takes about a minute for this page to load.

I am on a mac with a 10.6 operating system with about 4 gigs of memory.  I use safari for my web browser.

and thanks for simply considering my small problem.

the time lag is only on this site.

the last time I hit the post function the connection timed out on me.  that seems to be a regular feature of this site.

At the very top left of page, click on safari. Then click on preferences. Click privacy.

Click on "remove all website data", click "remove now".

I have to do it on my mac about once a month.

That's all I know, unless you try a different browser. Maybe Firefox?

tec, i am unfamiliar with macs or the safari browser. maybe disabling any extensions or add ons you might have? or as iddee said i would start by trying a different browser, like firefox, to see if the browser is the issue.  i have helped others who were using internet explorer who had experienced a myriad of quirks, and seemed to clear up once they switched to using firefox.

let us know if that solves the problem for you.
