Anyone Selling in Texas Farmer's Markets?
« on: July 12, 2014, 09:21:05 pm »
I doubt we will have any extra honey to sell in the Farmer's Market, but I have been approached about doing it.  What is the deal with the food manufacturer's license you have to have now?  Can you package it it in a someone else's licensed kitchen and put your label on it or do you have to put their's?

This just doesn't make sense to me.  Jill can bake items at home, in an unlicensed kitchen, and sell them at the Farmer's Market.  But we can't sell a natural product without a manufacturer's license....  Crazy.

Beats me. Apis sent me a link with all that stuff and it looks pretty silly. I don't have enough this year to sell either so it will be directly to friends and family. Maybe in the future. I have a barn that if I just cleaned it up a little, it would fall within the guidelines. That's dumb too, because my house is a lot cleaner than that barn will ever be.

So the government is doing something that doesn't make any sense?  As Gomer Pyle was so apt to say, "surprise, surprise, surprise."

On another matter beeracude, you look well, how are you getting along?

I am doing pretty good.  I start my last treatment in the "Consolidation" phase on the 29th.  After I recover from that, the doctor will decide what is next.  I sure am hoping I don't need to do the stem cell transplant...

I, and I suspect many others, will pray that all goes well for you.  I am currently laid up with a total knee replacement, but I am not even sick compared to where you are.  My total recovery is almost guaranteed.  It is a shame that anyone has to go through what you are undergoing.  I do wish you well.  Think positive and know that you have many people praying for your recovery.  Keep us posted.
