Good vid on Bee Venom Therapy. The guest speaker on the Martha Stewart show is Frederique Keller who is the president of the American Apitherapy Society based out of New York, of which I am a member

Martha keeps her Epipen in the fridge?

I know she needs to ask questions and point things out... But the way she phrased a few things it sounded like she didn't already know the answer.  I wonder if when says says "I keep bees", she really means that she owns some hives, but pays someone else to care for them...

It's interesting that this segment was done, but I didn't find it to be very informative.  I know time is tough on shows like this, but I don't feel very much was appropriately covered.

I don't mean to sound like a Gloomy Gus, I just wasn't impressed.

i would agree about not keeping eppy's in the fridge.

thanks for the video jen, hard to cram a lot of information in 10 minutes. craig didn't even flinch when she placed the stinger on his back.....i probably would have rolled off the table!.......

Cpn -  To clarify my first post, it wasn't Martha, or about Martha and her show, or how Martha keeps bees, or where Martha keeps her epipen...that I was calling attention to. It was Frederique Keller! The president of American Apitherapy Society which is worldwide. The show was focused on the healing process of venom and the other products from the hive, and the fact that Ms. Keller placed a bee on someone on camera. The education on BVT and the  process of that is what I was aiming at...  The show was about the very basics of BVT.

Hey Keith  Yes, I think it is down. I was trying yesterday as a matter of fact, have a question about a sweet baby that has severe eczema, thinking propolis cream. Anyway, they do revamp their site from time to time, keep trying.

Jen do you offer this service to clients? How did you get into the venom side of bee keeping? I got stung today on my knee and it feels all warm and now I am tired! LOL Would it be helpful and work with fibromyalgia?

oh, yeah!  I had a question about this vid... The demonstrator said that the process doesn't kill the bee and that she lets it live out it's life in the hive (5:40-5:46).  I thought once they stung, they were done?

Cpn -  Honeybee stingers are barbed. If the bee doesn't dispell her guts with the stinger she can 'often' continue to live. The trick is to gently touch the skin with the stinger until the barbs in the stinger grab the skin, then the stinger comes off without the guts attached. If the bee actually injects the stinger into the skin on her own, the chances are her guts will go with it.

With my own stinging, I rarely see guts. I sting and gently remove her leaving stinger behind, then I take her back out to the hive and she walks back in. Pretty Cool that she doesn't have to die

Yesiree, they are! my bee stings have helped hold off a knee surgery for 5 years now. Not only that, but I was having some trouble with anxiety three winters ago, bee stings on the appropriate acupunture points calmed me right down, and kept me working right along with the rest ~
