Walter T Kelley acquisition
« on: August 23, 2014, 12:20:00 pm »
I just received an email from Walter T Kelley Co. saying that they have been acquired by the Frandsen Corp. of Minnesota.  They will change their name to Kelley Beekeeping Company.  The transaction will take place Sept. 9,2014.

“The beekeeping industry has exploded
with growth in recent years and
is expected to continue growing
and evolving rapidly,” said Dan Ferrise, EVP of
Frandsen and CEO of Miller. “We will provide the
KBC team with resources that will allow them to c
ontinue to grow to meet the needs of beekeepers
throughout North America.”

It sounds like this may be a positive partnership.  Maybe they will now have reasonable shipping into Canada.

I got that email, too.  We'll see if it turns out to be good or bad.   :eusa_think:

Several items of my hive equipment came from Kelley's.  All top notch.  I hope that the change in ownership doesn't affect the quality of their supplies negatively.  Many of us on this forum remember, from the not too distant past, how a change in ownership changed the nature of something that was very dear to us.

I definitely agree, but there is always a future for those willing to make it happen.   :)

Thanks for the heads up on this.  I just  finished an order I'd been getting together so I can get some of that free shipping.  :)
