Just picked up another swarm. Got a call from the same fellow that called last week (the swarm that was shaped like a traffic cone). There was another one in a small pine tree about 15 feet from where the last one was. About a foot off the grouind, but not quite as big. I don't know what's going on with these late swarms. I'll probably just add this to a smaller colony.

I just made a thread about late swarms around here...crazy...happening here too though in Michigan.

Merging the bees at this time of year is undoubtedly the best use for the swarm---but don't waste the queens.  Swarm queens are the best they make and can (=should) be used for replacing old worn out queens.
