I really must be doing something wrongs as I always wear full suit and veil and even gloves. Mind you I was roughed up pretty good including dozen or so inside veil, but never stung inside the nostril or even on the nose do eyes count? :P

Do you completely suit up when replacing syrup jars?

Yes! eyes count! Did that sting on the eye lid make you cry for about an hour?

for a simple things for a simple thing like replacing syrup bottles ( Boardman feeder ) no, but anything that means opening the hive up yes I do, I would rather be prepared for their very rare bad hair day then pretend everything is all sunshine and roses and find out otherwise. I can always take stuff off as I work, its difficult to walk away from a hive that is open to put your gear on.

They are relatively calm, don't much care for the lawn mower or weedeater but a few puffs of smoke and cut down immediately in front of hives no issues. After that they behave  lol. ;-)
