Mid winter exactly 3 weeks after the first 3 days of minus zero degrees in a row we treat with liquid OA. Drip it between the frames, on the winter cluster and the bees spread it among themselves. It kills nearly all the mites
Also we never treat more then once during a bees life cycle, like during summer never more then every 6 weeks and in winter only once

Vossejonqk says: Mid winter exactly 3 weeks after the first 3 days of

in a row we treat with liquid OA.
Just a reminder for all you folks in the US---he's talking about zero degrees Celsius (which equals 32 degrees Farenheit)

Hi Vosse
long time no hear from
I have seen the drip method, pretty cool. I am following the instructions to treat once a week for three weeks, 3 treatments, with the vaporizor. This way I don't have to lift off the supers to get to the brood.
Keep in touch

Hi Jen, I was busy with my house, job and girlfriend (she moved in with me) and not much was going on in bee land for me, so I stayed quiet

FWIW, I use a portable jumper battery like Perry does for OAV. I light the smoker, set it on the hive and make sure I'm up wind, or a safe distance when the wind is variable. The smoke gives you warning in time to move. No gloves, or mask.

FWIW?
I purchased a small 12 volt battery for this series of treatments, it works great and is light weight for me to cart around.
