Our first Fall Festiville attempt
« on: September 23, 2014, 12:06:26 am »
Here is our line up for the weekends 2 day event. We will be the only Honey vendor at the event. Have no idea what to expect, we are taking the observation hive.

I think we have something for everybody  :)

The 2 on the far right are comb honey.

Really nice selection Yankee, it will also tell you what people prefer in honey containers. I'm partial to the muth jars myself, it's what I use at home  :)

Nice packaging! and labels!  Are you taking the lollipops?  How about some informational flyers?  Maybe some of riverbee's flyers that she included in another thread?  I seem to recall she had flyers about candles.
I guess you didn't ask for suggestions.  My bad.

Yank, it's a hoot, you'll have fun. I like to pick on the old ladies there always ready to fight. :D Your honey containers look good, hope you have enough to sell?If your the only one there selling honey, have it and your location announced over the loud speaker. I'll have two competitors at ours this weekend, but will have between a 70,000 to 100,000 turnout. :o Jack

Lol, Bakersdozen

I figure anything that gets posted is asking for suggestions.

As far as enough. I have no idea what to expect so I am filling a lots of jars. Great ideas on flyers and load speaker announcement.

Not sure if I'll have the sucker ready for this show. Have spent most of time getting jars filled and Comb Honey cut. I am really looking forward to it.

Gonna take some bees. I know that will draw them over.

Lol, you would.

BTW, your Honeysuckle Hives Honey won a Blue Ribbon at the fair this week. Along with a comment card attached that said "Nice Looking Product"

Jar of Comb Honey won "Best of Show"

Pictures later.

Wow!  That's Crazy Good News And I Don't Doubt That For A Single Moment! Something just special about that story and the new beek that's taking care of them  ;)

And by the way, when winter settles in and you don't have anything to do, I would like to buy another small bottle of the Honeysuckle Hives honey. I keep it put away for when hubby and I need a health boost  :)

Take lots of honey and be prepared to be busy. OB hives draw a crowd.  Make sure the hive is not in direct sunlight as this will act as a magnifying glass and make the bees hot and runny.  If you have time mark your queen.  I found out the first time I took an ob hive to the fair without a marked queen you will spend a lot of time looking for the queen to point out to the kids.  A problem solver to this was we offered anyone that spotted the queen a free honey stick. Which turned out to be good marketing since it got the product into there hand and usually they returned with there friends to buy more.

LOL Oh yah... I guess I would have to buy something. I would definately be interested in more Honeysuckle Hive honey, or some of that funny sounding jelly if it was up for sale, and ummmm... a couple of candles  :)

The funniest part would be to get someone to take a pic of me minding my own business, at his table, then come back home and post it on the forum..   "Surprise!!! I was there!"  It would be fun to do with all of you who sell at your local farmers markets.

sneaky jen   :D

Congratulations, a nice displayed product attracts a lot of attention and admirers. Take the ribbons along and sell the  honey as award wining. Thanks for entering fairs and competitions, as a judge of honey I know that the work and commitment to enter your honey is appreciated by the committee and judges.

Wow, Wow, Wow, What a blast. Where did the time go.

In terms of sales, I guess it was good?  665.00? I am happy with that. :-)

But man was it fun. Sitting around listening to great music all day, bbq competition, and talking Bees and Honey.

There is just something about Honeybees and Honey. It just makes people happy.
