Taking Advantage of the Weather
« on: December 21, 2013, 11:04:49 pm »
Beautiful day in the high-60's, today.  Back into the mid-40's next week.  I took advantage of the weather today to pop the covers and check things out.  Plenty of stores and lots of bees.  Two hives are so packed, they will likely be swarm candidates by Spring.  So much activity in the bee yard, it looked like April rather than December.

Make hay while the sun shines.  ;)
I wish it would warm up enough to crack a few myself.

Was a high of 73 late last night and down to 60 today. That cold front rolled through last night with lots of rain and some thunder.

Last night seemed like late spring/early summer.  Not too unusual for around here  The really cold air doesn't hit until January.

Friday I cleaned out the gutters and cleaned the chimney.  Not too bad working on a warm breezy day.

Temp. in the 20's,grass and trees iced over with little patches of snow here and there. The good thing is, the days are getting longer now by one minute a day now. Jack
