Perry:A good year, and a lot of luck.
The only luck in beekeeping that I'm aware of is when swarm lands on a 4 feet tree.
Your good year came from hard work and wise management.

I am at 28 colonies now, and that's where I should stop until I retire. Beeing a weekend keeper, it's too much work in two days, no time for gardening or fishing.
With so much beework I can only grow garlic in my garden beds.
Ideally, in spring, if overwintering goes well, I could sell ~20 nucs and still have a nice honey crop.
