Honey warmer cabinet

Last week I decided to make a honey warmer cabinet.  The cabinet came from the Subaru plant here in town.  We demo an area so I was able to bring home a robot control cabinet.  Bought a water heater thermostat and styrofoam.  Rest I had laying around.  Top shelf can be removed if I wanted to warm up a 5 gal. bucket.  Thermostat is set at 110.  In a couple days my crystallized honey was liquid.

I'm going to see about converting a stand up freezer or something like that as well, for doing the buckets. The cabinet I have set up for the supers is way bigger than neccessary, and is not very efficient when it comes to heating a few pails.
That looks too nice not to try and copy Crazy!  :-[

I agree...  I'm betting finding a stand up freezer wouldnt be that difficult.. or, at least I know of several that have been junked.. now that I WANT one I am thinking there will be none found...

scott, for you? if you drive 250 miles on ice and snow covered roads with a big trailer, ya might find one......... :D

Thanks Riverbee!  I was quite surprised that a 100w  C:-) bulb could do the trick.  I think it took 3 days to completely melt all the honey.  Probably because I kept opening it up to make sure everything was going ok.  I have a few fans that are compact I thought about mounting one inside but this box isnt big enough that it was needed.

   Be careful what you wish for!
   The only problem would be surviving the trip.. not because of the snow covered roads, but because the wife has a heart attack every time we hit a bump or someone puts on their brakes in front of us....    Youd swear she was a city driver from somewhere down south...   Its OK to go 85 mph bumper to bumper darting in and out of traffic, until you see a snowflake.. then you have to drive 15 mph.....

nice looking cabinet.  I always like when something can be repurposed.

As far as finding a freezer to use.  I posted a wanted ad on Freecycle. I had a small chest freezer within the week.
