Whats the wind chill?
« on: November 17, 2014, 09:14:40 pm »

I am always wondering what the wind chill is.. for instance, we have 25 mph winds and it is 5 degrees F outside.. so I looked it up.. with wind chill its -17 degrees right now outside my house..

Here is a little calculator you can use to check the wind chill at your place!

28 right now cuz it's calm.  Dropping to 21 tonight.  21 in North Texas is the equivalent of 11 below zero up north, based on what we are accustomed to

It's going to be a high of 37 here tomorrow, then in the teens tomorrow night. Too darn cold for NC in Nov.

i do have a hand held unit, i just went out and froze my backside off to test it against the calculator............. :D

0 degrees here,
wind at about 12 mph
so -17 or -18 degrees f with the windchill factor. and it feels like it.

You know I believe I am staying in Texas for a while longer.  Wonder what the windchill is in Portland Oregon?  And can I raise bees there?

The northern west coast has 2 seasons, rain, and when it doesn't rain! :D
The weather up here is usually forecast as the actual temp, and what it feels like (wind chill).

It's supposed to be in the low 20s here tonight. Pretty unusual for this time of year.
Thank goodness for Global Warming! If it wasn't for that, it'd be really cold.  :)

There goes the price of oranges  ;D    Its been cold here in the 20s and 30.  We got 3 inches of snow on the ground and that is unusual for us this time of the year.

There goes the price of oranges

And strawberries. They're really going to take a hit tonight.

Not if you cover them with a good frost blanket.
