Sold 8 more last night Crazy,

Thanks for the chart, My next batch will be with Shea Butter and Sunflower oil. Both rated 0. AND I am fixing to have all the local Sunflower oils I want,
as my bees are on the sunflower fields and the farmer is pressing the seeds himself.

So, local beeswax and local Sunflower oil.

Crazy- "I make these all the time! I use them and give them out. Never thought I could make to sell!

Are you using wax from your hives? I don't have enough wax to make anything this year, but I do have a large bag of wax pellets for crafting. I wouldn't be able to say I made lotion bars from my hive but... ya know, wax is wax I guess

Jen, I used my own beeswax. You can make quite a few going 1/3- 1/3- 1/3.

1/3 beeswax
1/3 Coconut Oil-Shea Butter
1/3 Grape seed oil, Avocado oil

Then I ad vitamin e oil and essential oil.

I add about 10 drops or so of essential oil to each batch. Kinda depends on what fragrance I am using. Still playing around with that part.

Yes, I use my own wax, almost all cappings wax.

Molds came from here. Each mold pours 5 at a time.

Well I didn't know you and Crazy both used 1/3rds each of the same ingredients... sorry ~

I still don't understand the grapeseed oil in lotion, it's bitter as he77. Anyway, I'm going to sub with something else, not sure yet, and probably 1 tsp of honey per bar. Honey is a humectant, which means it attracts water from the air and pulls it to the skin. '

Lol, I wouldn't put it in lip gloss.

I am trying it simply because it says its good for your skin.

I have honey in my lotion recipe but it doesn't seem to attract bees.

Hmm, maybe I should put a little less per bar, I think that would be a good idea. However, these lotion bars will used over the winter..sooo I think it would be okay.

Bought a lovely honey bee and flowers mold off of Amazon

Then check this out for a honeycomb effect.. I like it and will be experimenting, will share

Haven't made them yet, don't have a mold yet until the Amazon one gets here. But I'm intriqued by the beeswax idea. Thinking I could use my muffin tin, put bubble wrap on the bottom, pour lotion formula in, let set up, then pull the bubble wrap off and see what happens. It might work out enough for some holiday handouts

Will probably use beeswax (commercial), coconut oil, and olive oil..... to start

Inspired by Yankee's endeavors, I attempted my own lotion bars last night. I was hoping to get somewhere to get a mold and do this, but when a coworker gave me a metal mold the other day, that had been his mother's, it seemed like a sure sign. I did have a lot of trouble getting the lotion bars out of the molds and as you can see I have some to remelt and try again. I think I need a mold that has some flexibility to it. I had a little tiny hard plastic cup that I used to mold the extra and it came out beautifully. I am very happy with the results of the actual lotion. It feels very good. I almost think the tore up ones could be rolled into a ball.

after mine harden in the mold, I put the trays in the freezer for 5 minutes or so. Once frozen they pop right out.

Thanks for the tip Yankee. I was going to go out and buy a mold. I will give that a try.
I set the pan over a simmering pot to try to loosen them. I didn't get great results.
With the scraps, I was able to roll the lotion into balls. I now have the softest hands around.
