Well, here in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota, it's supposed to hit -15 Deg. F tonight (seen worse).  We have a bathroom on the first floor that was built on a south-facing porch (concrete slab).  Unfortunately, I haven't been able to figure out where the cold air is sneaking in where the bathtub drain is situated so I keep a heat lamp on the trap and a milkhouse heater blowing in there through the access panel.  Drain was frozen this A.M. when the wife took her shower.  I got the drain thawed after about an hour but when it gets to be a daily chore...

Next summer I'm going to see what I can do about it.  May just have to wrap the whole house in tar paper and cluster with the Missus.  :laugh:

I hear ya retro!  I’ve got heat tape strung all over the place. :'(  Why they ever allowed builders to build on slabs up here is beyond me!  I just thank the good Lord that we don’t get as cold as Minnesota and Wisconsin. :)

Welcome to the forums!  I got all excited when I saw the topic, then realized you were from MI...
Here in WI the frozen tundra has extra meaning  :D
Still good to have someone from (sort of) nearby to exchange ideas with!
